Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay and watch—or even join in. Many of our Lubbock families train together.

Schedule Your Free IntroEverything we teach builds toward these four outcomes.
Confident kids stand taller, make eye contact, and carry themselves differently. That presence makes a difference everywhere they go.
Most kids don't like "exercise." But they love martial arts. We disguise fitness as fun—and kids beg to come back.
The discipline kids learn on the mat shows up in their grades, their chores, and how they treat their siblings.
We teach non-violent self-defense techniques. Your child will know how to protect themselves—without throwing the first punch.
Most kids won't face a serious bully. But the skills they build here show up everywhere.
The shy kid who learns to make eye contact and speak up? She's not just ready for bullies—she's ready to raise her hand in class, try out for the school play, and introduce herself to new friends.
The unfocused kid who learns discipline on the mat? He's not just learning techniques—he's learning to finish his homework, listen to his teachers, and stick with hard things.
The anxious kid who gains confidence through earned achievement? She's building a foundation that will serve her for the rest of her life.
That's what "bully-proof" really means—raising kids who are ready for anything.
Start building that foundation today.

World-class martial arts with generations of proven excellence.
Professor Pittman trains under Carlos Machado—one of the most respected names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu worldwide. The Machado brothers trained directly with the legendary Gracie family, and their methodology has influenced martial artists across the globe.
This lineage matters because the techniques we teach aren't improvised. They've been refined over generations, tested under pressure, and adapted specifically for practical self-defense—not just sport competition.
When your child trains at Pittman Academy, they're learning a curriculum rooted in decades of proven methodology—the same world-class system trusted by martial artists everywhere.
A family man running a family academy.
Professor Klay Pittman isn't just an instructor—he's a dad. His two young daughters train right here on these same mats, in the same classes, alongside your kids. When you walk through our doors, you'll see that this academy is built around family values because it's built by a family.
That's not a marketing line—it's how we operate every single day. Professor Pittman created this environment because he wanted a place where his own children could grow, learn, and be safe. Every decision we make, from how we teach to who we hire, is guided by one question: "Would I want this for my own kids?"
No child gets thrown into group class cold. Every new student gets a personalized intro session first—so they walk in prepared, not nervous.
We don't teach kids to fight. We teach them to control situations, de-escalate conflicts, and protect themselves only when necessary.
Promotions aren't handed out for attendance. Kids earn them by demonstrating both technique AND character.
This isn't a franchise. It's a family-run academy where Lubbock parents know each other and kids form real friendships.
"Our son's confidence is building, and he always looks forward to going to class. You can tell they all care deeply about the people who attend—they aren't just a number."
"Started training with 3 of my young boys (ages 4, 7, 9). Respect for self and others isn't just taught here—it's a prerequisite. Pittman's is helping me raise strong men with self-control."
"Our son was having troubles in school—ever since day ONE all his troubles have gone away! He's more focused, his teachers and family have noticed a huge change. The instructors are amazing!"
None at all. Most of our students start with zero martial arts background. The personalized intro session is designed specifically to teach them the basics before they ever join a group class.
Comfortable athletic clothing—shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt. No zippers, buttons, or jewelry. Uniforms are available after enrollment.
Absolutely—we encourage it. Many parents end up getting curious and trying a class themselves. We have several Lubbock families who train together, and it's one of the best parts of what we do.
Absolutely. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is ideal for girls because it emphasizes technique and leverage over size and strength. Many of our most dedicated students are girls, and the confidence and boundary-setting skills they learn here serve them for life. Girls and boys train together with mutual respect.
The SuperKids program is for boys and girls ages 4–12. Kids of all ages train the same curriculum, adjusted for their developmental level.
This is exactly why we start every child with a personalized intro session. No audience, no group pressure. By the time they join regular class, they already know the basics and a familiar face. Shy kids often become our most enthusiastic students.
We offer several membership options to fit different budgets. We'll discuss details after your intro session—no pressure, just information so you can make the right decision for your family.
Then you've lost nothing. The intro is completely free with no obligation. We'd rather have kids who want to be here.
Regular classes meet Monday–Thursday at 5:30 PM and Saturday at 9:00 AM—perfect for after school. You can attend as many classes per week as you'd like.
Yes. We adjust intensity and complexity for age. Younger children (4–6) focus on fundamentals through games and play with close supervision. No sparring or dangerous techniques at any age.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), taught under the Carlos Machado lineage. BJJ focuses on leverage, control, and non-violent self-defense—perfect for kids because it doesn't rely on size or strength.
Your child's first session is personalized, welcoming, and completely free. No commitment.
We'll call within 24 hours to schedule your session. No spam, no pressure.
